Oman at meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers with Jordanian Foreign Minister

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi participated in a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, held at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat in Riyadh, with the attendance of the GCC Secretary-General.

The meeting reviewed the strategic partnership between the GCC and Jordan and the outcomes of the joint committee meetings between senior officials from the foreign ministries of the GCC states and Jordan. These meetings played a role in following up on the progress of joint work and discussing the recommendations of the joint working groups raised to the Ministerial meeting.

During the meeting, the Ministers affirmed their countries' steadfast position in defending Jerusalem and its holy sites with an influential voice through regional and international forums.

They supported all decisions affirming the Arab identity of Jerusalem and backing the struggle of its people against Judaization and preserving the cultural and architectural heritage of Al Aqsa Mosque. They commended the relentless efforts and endeavours made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in this regard.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under its wise leadership, is actively working to raise the voice of truth and justice in international forums. In this work it emphases the importance of reaching a fair and comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people, restores their lands, and secures the establishment of their independent state based on borders of June 4th, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
