Foreign Minister receives Iranian Foreign Minister

Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received this morning, Dr Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his official visit to the Sultanate.

The Ministers discussed relations between the two friendly countries and followed up on the results of the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Tehran in May.

They reviewed ways to activate and enhance cooperation in culture, trade, economic and investment affairs, energy projects, transportation and ports with a view to supporting economic diversification and serving the interests of the two countries and their peoples.

There was also an exchange of views on regional and international issues and developments, with the Ministers affirming their support for all peaceful efforts aimed to achieve stability in the world.

The meeting was attended by Oman's Ambassador-at-Large Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhinai, Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Ministry's Department for the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Region, as well as officials from both Iran and Omani.
