Ambassadors visit Oman Across Ages Museum

Ambassadors of various Foreign countries to the Sultanate today paid a visit to the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah, Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah.

They were received by Nasr Hamoud Al Kindi, Secretary General of Royal Court Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Museum as well as various officials.

Oman Across Ages Museum is located in the Wilayat of Manah in the heart of the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah just one hour and 40 minutes (160 km) by car from Muscat and 20 minutes (20km) from Nizwa (for more information click here).

The ambassadors toured the Museum to view various items and manuscripts displayed in the History Gallery and the Renaissance Gallery.

They also explored the latest interactive technologies in the Museum, and were shown round the facilities and services provided by the Museum for visitors.

The ambassadors also went on a tour of the Knowledge Centre and the Hisn Al Shomoukh library.

Abdullah bin Saud Al Anazi, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Oman, said: “I congratulate the Sultanate of Oman on this achievement, which is characterised by the modern and interactive technologies used in it.”

Maria Luisa Huidobro Martin–Laborda, Spain’s Ambassador to Oman said the Museum was “amazing” both in terms of the huge building and the exhibits.

The Oman through Ages Museum was inaugurated by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik earlier this week. It will be open to the public from this Saturday March 18th. The exhibition halls are open from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
