Foreign Minister receives Vatican Secretary

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, received Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Vatican's Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations, at the headquarters of the Sultanate's permanent delegation to the United Nations in New York.

The meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest, with the Archbishop and the Minister agreeing on their support for the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, for dialogue between civilisations and cultures and on their commitment to the values of tolerance, understanding and respect. The two sides also agreed to build constructive cooperation for harmony between nations.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr Mohammed bin Awad Alhassan, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and a number of officials from the Vatican and Oman.
