Musandam Governorate sees significant investment growth

Musandam Governorate is witnessing significant growth in housing and urban planning thanks to improved infrastructure and measures to enhance economic development in the region.

These efforts aim to integrate the Governorate's urban strategy with Oman’s national development goals.

The Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Musandam signed 19 agreements with private companies at the beginning of this year with investments nearing OMR 60,000 in industry, agriculture and quarries.

Ali bin Ahmed Al Ma'shani, Director General of the Directorate, noted a remarkable increase in real estate transactions surpassing OMR 5 million.

He also revealed a more than five percent rise in foreign real estate trading during the second quarter of this year.

Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, confirmed the expansion of local services, including the opening of a new housing and urban planning services office in Wilayat Madha to enhance coverage.

Among upcoming projects in the Governorate is a comprehensive housing plan in Kumzar village valued at OMR 4.2m, which includes 150 residential plots, roads, a school, a health centre, a public council and other essential facilities.

Another major project is the development of “Palm Hills,” which comprises 536 housing units on an area of 635,000 square meters, with a budget exceeding OMR 70m aimed at providing a modern residential environment.

Additionally, there is an urban renewal project in Wilayat Dibba, covering more than 672,000 square meters, including the Dibba port area.
