Oman Bahrain joint committee meets
The eighth session of the Oman Bahrain Joint Committee was held at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat, chaired by Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Sayyid Badr welcomed Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, highlighting that the convening of this session reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries and enhances opportunities for cooperation.
Sayyid Badr noted the significant progress in economic relations between Oman and Bahrain, with bilateral trade reaching OMR 118 million by August 2024. He added that joint investments are witnessing substantial growth in infrastructure, tourism, logistics, and the industrial and banking sectors.
He emphasised the importance of continuing to develop strategic partnerships and explore new avenues for mutual benefit.
Dr Al Zayani expressed his profound appreciation for being received by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and for his warm hospitality. He lauded the wise directives that underscore the deep bonds of brotherhood and genuine affection between the two nations and their peoples.
Dr Al Zayani commended the ongoing political cooperation between the two countries, which was marked by coordination and joint consultation on regional and international issues. He affirmed that this collaboration strengthens collective efforts to support regional security and stability amidst ongoing conflicts and destructive wars.
After the session, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani signed the minutes of the eighth meeting of the Oman-Bahrain Joint Committee.
The meeting was attended from Oman by Khalid Almuslahi, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari; Head of the Department for the Gulf Cooperation Council and Region and Sayyid Faisal Hareb Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman's Ambassador to Bahrain.
It was attended from Bahrain by Hamad bin Faisal Al Maliki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr Jumaa bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain's Ambassador to Oman, and various officials from Oman and Bahrain.
