Oman’s score in Economic Freedom Index in 2025 also rose from 62.9 to 65.4 out of 100, classifying its economy as “fairly free.”

Its score in the World Governance Indicators, the Rule of Law Index, the Regulatory Quality Index, and the Government Effectiveness Index also showed big progress.

Dr Salem Alsheikh, Director of the National Competitiveness Office at the Ministry of Economy, attributed this progress to the efforts of the national teams formed to monitor these indicators.

He also stressed the importance of the formation of national teams by the National Competitiveness Committee, such as the Innovation Team, Network Readiness, Environmental Performance, and Business Readiness.
