The Foreign Ministry provides a range of document attestation services.
In line with the keenness of the Foreign Ministry to improve the consular services and in order to ensure speedy completion of the attestation of documents, the Ministry would like to inform distinguished clients that as of May 8th 2023, services provided at the Foreign Ministry’s attestation offices in Muscat, Rusail, Khasab, Buraimi, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur and Salalah will be limited to the concerned individuals only. Therefore, agents and representatives of individuals and companies should present their documents to Oman Post offices in the various governorates and provinces.
Thank you for your cooperation.
The Foreign Ministry of Oman offers services to help Omani citizens, foreign residents, businesses, and visitors when they need to have documents attested.
The attestation of documents is usually required when someone has an important, official document relating to their personal, family or business affairs which may be needed to be certified as genuine.
While the Foreign Ministry shall continue to provide consular services, it wishes to draw attention to the public, that in light of new procedures, non-Omani nationals can no longer represent Omani citizens or corporate services at the consular department of the Foreign Ministry.
Non-Omani nationals may present documentation for consular services when it is in regard to their own personal affairs.
The Foreign Ministry also apologises that it is unable to provide services for corporates and institutions except through authorised Omani PROs.
There are a range of charges for attestation services as set out below.
People requiring documents attested by the Foreign Ministry should visit one of the attestation offices run by the Ministry in Muscat, Rusayl, Khasab, Al Buraimi, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur and Salalah .
