Idris Alkhanjari Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman at the United Nations in Geneva participated in a ceremony honouring Musandam Governorate for their innovative project focused on developing smart street lighting systems using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

This ceremony took place as part of the World Summit on the Information Society  (WSIS+20), hosted at Palexpo, Geneva and organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) from July 7 to 20, 2025.
