Minister meets Honorary Consuls

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with a group of the Sultanate of Oman’s honorary consuls from various countries and cities around the world.

The meeting, in Salalah, Dhofar, discussed the role of honorary consuls in strengthening friendship and cooperation with Oman.

They also discussed their contribution to promoting opportunities for economic and commercial partnerships as well as cultural and academic exchange.

Sayyid Badr highlighted the importance of ongoing engagement with Oman’s honorary consuls and the importance of drawing on their networks and expertise to strengthen human and cultural connections between peoples and cultures.

The Foreign Ministry had organised an introductory programme for the honorary consuls on Dhofar, highlighting its strengths and opportunities across various sectors.

The meeting was attended by the following honorary consuls Oman: Pauleta Senkienė in Vilnius, Lithuania; Engineer Ivo Vaněk Prague, the Czech Republic; Francisco Palau in Milan, Italy; Talal bin Salim Al Wahibi in Istanbul, Türkiye; Pablo Caralps in Barcelona, Spain; Tommaso d’Errico in Florence, Italy; Hussein bin Saif Al Harthy in Rwanda; Erden Dorjnamjim in Mongolia; Dr Mohammed Chand in Botswana; and Prakash Nair in Kerala, India.

Also present was Sheikh Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs.

In a post on social media platform X Sayyid Badr said: ”Pleased to meet a number of Oman’s Honorary Consuls today. We exchanged views and shared personal stories on the bonds of friendship that connect Oman to the world through trade, investment, and cultural engagement. My sincere gratitude to them for their important role in building bridges of understanding and deepening ties with Oman”.
