On behalf of the Arab Group, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed before the UN Security Council the full solidarity of the Arab states with the Syrian Arab Republic and their firm support for its unity, sovereignty, and stability.

Oman commended Syria’s efforts to promote national reconciliation, maintain security, and restore state institutions. It also called for the lifting of sanctions on Syria as a humanitarian and economic necessity, and for supporting its efforts in development and the dignified return of refugees.

Oman also condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, affirming that Syria’s security is an integral part of Arab security and that respect for its sovereignty is fundamental to achieving peace and stability in the region.
