The workshop discussed a number of key themes, including the importance of integration and partnership between the entities concerned with investment and Omani embassies abroad.  The workshop also covered mechanisms of cooperation, and the approved framework to facilitate the flow of investors and visiting delegations to Oman.

The workshop also explained the Invest Oman system and its services, as well as the role of team work in supporting investors and facilitating their investment journey.

The message of the workshop was that integration and partnership between Invest Oman and Oman’s embassies abroad are crucial to enhancing Oman’s efforts in attracting investments, opening direct channels for investment opportunities, and developing exports, in order to achieve sustainable economic value and support economic diversification priorities.

Hawra Saud Al Wahibi, Director of the External Offices Affairs Department at the MCIIP, said that the workshop is part of an effort to unify efforts to support investors. The aim is to  familiarise diplomatic missions with the Invest Oman system, and mechanisms that contribute to building trust and transforming investment interest into tangible projects with sustainable impact, she added.

She explained that enabling embassies to perform their economic role, in integration with the work teams at Invest Oman, will help enhance Oman’s presence on the global investment map. It will also support achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by attracting investments, developing exports, and enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment.

The aim is to develop the investment promotion system, and to enhance the readiness of Oman’s missions abroad to interact with investment opportunities, and transform them into qualitative projects with added value for the national economy.

The plan is that greater integration between embassies, commercial attachés, and Invest Oman will build confidence, accelerate investment pathways, and reinforce Oman’s position as a competitive investment destination both regionally and internationally.
