He was born in Salerno on February 24, 1976.

He graduated in law at the University of Salerno in 1999 and began his diplomatic career in 2001.

He was Head of Staff of the Secretary of State for European Affairs (March 2021- October 2022), after serving as Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister for European Affairs in the previous Government (September 2019-February 2021).

Previously, from 2001 to 2005, he served at the Directorate General for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

From 2005 to 2009 he has been “Mertens” Counsellor at
the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in Brussels (Belgium).

From 2009 to 2011 he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Italy in Bucharest (Romania).

He served as Consul General in Tripoli (Libya) from 2011 to 2014.

From 2014 to 2017 he worked as Head of the Office for EU institutional and legal affairs at the Directorate General for European Union Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

From August 2017 until September 2019, he worked at the Office of the Diplomatic Advisor to the Italian President of the Council of Ministers.

From 2014 until 2020, he has been teaching “negotiating skills”to Italian civil servants at the National School of Administration.

He speaks fluent English, French and Romanian.

He was awarded the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Republic by the President of the Italian Republic in 2016.

Accredited Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman since January 2023.
