The Mawarid Turbine Company and the National University of Science and Technology<\/a> signed a cooperation agreement to provide intensive specialised industrial training for more than 3o0 Omani graduates in wind turbine manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The 321 trainees will be the first national cohort to work at the turbine manufacture plant under construction by Mawarid Turbine in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.<\/a><\/p>\n

The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of Dr Mansoor bin Talib Al Hinai, Chairman of the Authority for Public Services Regulation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He described the agreement, developed with several entities through the Governance of Employment Committee in the public services sector, as an important initiative which will empower Omani youth and develop skills in modern technologies for turbine manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed on behalf of Mawarid Turbine by its Chief Executive Officer, Mustafa bin Mohammed Al Hinai. It was signed on behalf of the National University of Science and Technology by Dr Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of the university.<\/p>\n

The programme, delivered in coordination with the Ministry of Labour<\/a> and the Authority for Public Services Regulation, is a specialised training scheme and the first of its kind in wind turbine manufacturing. It will serve as an integrated industrial pathway to build national capabilities within the industry\u2019s value chain.<\/p>\n

Dr Abeer bint Ali Al Kalbani, Director of National Talent Development and Local Content at Mawarid Turbine, said the programme will begin this February within a clear industrial framework based on actual production lines and manufacturing requirements. It will focus on preparing a national workforce in blade manufacture and nacelle assembly. It will build practical competence and industrial discipline while strengthening applied understanding of internationally recognised quality and safety standards.<\/p>\n

She added that the programme goes beyond employment and training, as it will expand the local content base through the localisation of knowledge and technologies and build long term national capabilities in the renewable energy sector.
