Foreign Minister at annual forum on prevention of Non Communicable Diseases
Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, represented Oman in the third annual meeting of the Global Group of Heads of State and Government on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, at the United Nations headquarters, within the framework of the ongoing 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting discussed vital topics related to international efforts to combat non-communicable diseases and raise awareness about them by encouraging healthy sports and nutritional practices to improve the lifestyle of individuals and communities.
The meeting also stressed the need to intensify international cooperation in developing effective strategies to reduce the spread of these diseases.
The meeting concluded with important recommendations, most notably the development of a roadmap for member states, which contributes to strengthening health policies and providing the necessary funding to combat non-communicable diseases, to ensure better health for future generations. The Foreign Minister participated in this meeting with Dr Ahmed bin Salem Al Mandhari, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health for Health Planning and Regulation and a number of officials and specialists.
