Foreign Minister at meetings in Tehran
As part of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran today, Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Dr Mohammad Mokhber, the Acting President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader and to the Acting President, along with his best wishes to the leadership and the Islamic Republic of Iran for continued prosperity and growth.
Mohammad Mokhber asked the Foreign Minister to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian leadership to his brother, His Majesty the Sultan, and to the Omani people for continued prosperity and well-being.
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of the late President, Dr Ebrahim Raisi; the late Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation.
The Acting President expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation for the solidarity of Oman with Iran in this great loss.
The meeting affirmed the strong and friendly relations between the two countries and continued and enhanced cooperation in all fields.
Sayyid Badr also met with Ali Bagheri Kani, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting discussed regional and international issues and efforts to find political and peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. They emphasised the need for the international community to take firm actions to stop the heinous aggression against the Palestinian people and to achieve justice and freedom for them as stipulated by relevant international conventions. They also stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and cooperation among the countries of the region to address common challenges.
The meetings were attended by Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Omani and Iranian officials.
