Foreign Minister meets Muscat mission heads

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, held the fourth annual meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to the Sultanate.

The aim of the meeting was to exchange views and clarify issues related to the economic and social development of Oman, as well as its foreign policy.

With regard to Omani foreign policy, Sayyid Badr said that it remained based on dialogue and a firm commitment to the principles of justice, fairness, respect for international law and constructive cooperation with countries and peoples.

He added that the impact of dialogue makes it essential in dealing with all regional and international issues and in resolving disputes by peaceful means. Dialogue, he added, contributes to achieving reconciliation, harmony and peace between conflicting parties.

The discussion at the meeting was dominated by conditions in the Gaza Strip and the suffering of the Palestinian people caused by the military operations launched by the Israeli occupation forces, in violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The Foreign Minister stated Oman’s firm position in condemning these violations and in making all efforts with other countries and international organisations to secure an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, to stop the violence and to secure the immediate flow of humanitarian relief.

In conclusion, the Foreign Minister expressed his thanks to the Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Sultanate of Oman for their efforts in strengthening relations and cooperation between their countries and the Sultanate of Oman.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary  for Political Affairs,; Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and a number of Foreign Ministry officials.
