Foreign Minister receives call from US Secretary of State

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a telephone call from Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State.

Mr Blinken offered the United States' sincere condolences to Oman over the death of a security officer and several civilians following the shooting incident near a mosque in the Al Wadi Al Kabir area of Muscat.

He affirmed his country's support for the measures taken by the Omani authorities to contain the situation and deal with the perpetrators. Mr Blinken also expressed the United States' condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and causes.

The two Ministers also discussed the latest efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and attempts to de-escalate tensions in the region. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to a two-state solution and the achievement of a just and lasting peace, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and adhere to the law.
