His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left the Republic of India this morning after a three-day state visit, during which His Majesty held talks with the Indian President and the Indian Prime Minister.

His Majesty the Sultan was seen off from the Indian capital, New Delhi, by Shri V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour); Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to Oman; Issa Saleh Abdullah Alshibani, Ambassador of Oman to India; and members of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in New Delhi.

Upon his departure, His Majesty sent a cable of thanks and appreciation to President Droupadi Murmu, President of the Republic of India, and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to them for the way he and his official delegation were received with great hospitality and honour.

His Majesty praised the opportunities provided by the meetings with the Indian President and the Prime Minister to discuss the long-standing relations between Oman and India and ways to develop them to serve the interests of the Omani and Indian peoples. His Majesty wished the President and the Prime Minister good health and vitality to achieve further the aspirations of the Indian people for progress and prosperity.

His Majesty was accompanied during his visit by a high-level official delegation that included: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA); Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Engineer Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry, and Issa Saleh Abdullah Alshibani, Oman's Ambassador to India.
