His Majesty the Sultan and Iranian President hold talks
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Excellency Dr Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held an official session of talks at the Al Alam Palace this morning.
During the session, they reviewed aspects of the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and ways to support and strengthen the solid friendly relations that bind the Omani and Iranian peoples to achieve more of their aspirations and hopes. They also exchanged views on matters of common interest.
From the Omani side, the talks were attended by: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman; His Excellency Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, General Sultan bin Muhammad Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Honorary Mission); Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce Industry and Investment Promotion and Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Muaini, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
From the Iranian side the session was attended by: Dr Hassan Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei, Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics; Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Industry, Minerals and Trade, Rostam Qasemi, Minister of Transport and Urban Planning, Javad Oji, Minister of Oil, Dr Ali Salehabadi, Governor of the Central Bank, Gholam Hossein Esmaeili, Head of the Office of His Excellency the President, Ambassador Ali Najafi Khoskroudi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman, Abbas Moqtadaei, Deputy of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and Chairman of the Iranian-Omani Parliamentary Friendship Committee and a number of Iranian officials.
His Majesty the Sultan and President Raisi then held a closed-door session of talks.
This session was attended from the Omani side by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office and Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Muaini, Oman’s Ambassador to Iran. The session was attended from the Iranian side by Dr Hassan Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mohammad Jamshidi, Deputy Head of the President’s Office for Political Affairs, and Ali Najafi Khoshroudi, Iran’s ambassador to Oman.
