Foreign Minister meets President of the Red Cross

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, met with Mirjana Spolijaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, they reviewed the current humanitarian situation in many countries and the efforts being made to alleviate  the suffering of affected communities. They also exchanged views on various regional and international developments of common interest.

The ICRC President expressed her thanks and appreciation for the support provided by the Sultanate of Oman to various humanitarian operations, while Sayyid Badr spoke of the importance that the government of the Sultanate of Oman attaches to the humanitarian role played by the Committee and Oman's continued cooperation and partnership with it.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr Mohammed Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York; Sheikh Humaid Almaani, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Global Affairs Department, and Omani and ICRC officials.
