Bilateral relations

Diplomatic relations between Oman and the Philippines were established on October 6th 1980.

Oman’s Embassy in Malaysia initially covered the Sultanate’s interests in the Philippines.

Then in July 2013 Oman’s Embassy in Manila was officially inaugurated under the generous patronage of Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.

This consolidated relations between the two friendly countries and helped develop them in various political, economic and cultural fields.

Consular services

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Manila provides consular services both to Omani citizens visiting the Philippines and to Filipino citizens or foreigners in the Philippines wishing to visit Oman for tourism or business purposes. These services cover:

  • Entry visas for foreigners. An E-VISA can be obtained through the website of the Royal Oman Police: https://evisa.rop.gov.om
  • Lost passports for Omani citizens (for more information click here)
  • Emergency assistance for Omani citizens (for more information click here)
  • Attestation of official documents

Key objectives

  • Strengthening political cooperation through annual political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two friendly countries

  • Enhancing economic and commercial cooperation by promoting investment opportunities between the two countries

  • Working to attract investments and promoting Oman to foreign investors in the Philippines

  • Strengthening cultural cooperation between government and private higher education institutions in the two countries

  • Strengthening labour cooperation through the recruitment of skilled Filipino workers in many specialisations
