Minister receives Ukrainian Foreign Minister
Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received in his office, Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during his first visit to Muscat.
The two Ministers held political consultations, exchanging views on various issues and developments relating to the war in Ukraine. They discussed ways to achieve a just and comprehensive peace to end the conflict in accordance with international law and to end the humanitarian suffering.
They also addressed the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire, de-escalation and a return to the path of peace through dialogue, in line with international law. They also called for the lifting of the blockade on Gaza and the release of all hostages and detainees.
The two Ministers discussed cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and Ukraine, in the economic and cultural fields, in the transfer of science and technology, and in the fields of transportation and logistics. They also discussed their mutual interest in developing cooperation in renewable energy.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs; and Dr Maksym Subkh, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa, as well as various officials from both Ukraine and Oman.
