The work of the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman is guided by the thought, vision and directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, upholding the principles stipulated by the Basic Statute of the State.
The Foreign Ministry is responsible for organising and directing the Sultanate’s relationships with other countries and with regional and international organisations.
The Ministry strives to extend the hand of friendship to all. It works to maintain good relations with all countries through dialogue and cooperation and mutual respect. It supports international conventions, the rule of law and the Charter of the United Nations .
The diplomats and officials of the Ministry are organised so that they may work effectively to promote progress and development, both at home and abroad, so strengthening the foundations of global stability.
