New York: Oman reaffirms support for UNRWA
The Sultanate of Oman stressed the importance of continued funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to ensure the continuation of its vital services in supporting Palestinian refugees.
In a statement delivered by Adviser Abeer bint Marhoon Al Siyabiyah to the United Nations in New York, Oman reaffirmed that its Vision 2040 reflects a firm commitment to establishing an effective international partnership to build a more stable and prosperous global future.
In a separate statement delivered by Salem bin Masoud Al Rahbi, First Secretary of Oman's Mission to the United Nations, before the Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee) at the UN, Oman reiterated its rejection of the Israeli occupation's exploitation of the resources of the Palestinian and Syrian people in Palestine and the occupied Syrian Golan, noting the hindrance this poses to sustainable development.
Oman also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting children's rights and called on the international community to take decisive action to stop violations against Palestinian children in the occupied territories.
This was stated by Second Secretary Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Siyabi before the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (Third Committee) at the UN.
