Oman ranked 21st globally in a list of the best countries for investment and business in 2024, according to a new report.

The high ranking reflects Oman's continuous efforts to improve its business environment and enhance its attractiveness to foreign direct investment.

The report, issued by the US-based CEOWORLD magazine,  gives Oman an economic stability score of 92.12 points along with positive evaluations of its government policies and skilled workforce.

These factors, combined with an institutional framework score of 92.34 points, explain its appeal to foreign investment and entrepreneurship.

This high ranking is the result of Oman's efforts to implement Oman Vision 2040 which aims to diversify the national economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues.

The report also emphasises the role of the Invest in Oman lounge, the leading official platform for major investments in Oman in simplifying the investor journey and providing comprehensive services.

Oman's infrastructure development, including free zones and special economic zones, has strengthened its ability to attract foreign direct investment.

A focus on digital transformation and promoting technology-driven businesses has bolstered the Sultanate’s position as a leading investment destination.

As Oman continues to enhance its business environment and to offer innovative investment solutions, economists expect the Sultanate to maintain its attractiveness to international investors and advance further in global rankings in the coming years.
