Oman and Hungary discuss areas of cooperation
The second Omani-Hungarian Joint Technical Economic Committee meeting concluded in Muscat after discussing opportunities for joint investment and cooperation between the two countries in economic, commercial, and investment sectors.
The discussions focused on fossil energy, renewable energy and green hydrogen, as well as cooperation in agriculture and water management. The exchange of expertise in training, science and technology, high-tech innovations and space was also highlighted.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, while the Hungarian side was headed by Dr Tamás Vargha, Hungary’s Deputy Minister of Defence.
The meetings were attended by representatives from various Omani institutions and government bodies. Also present were Barnabás Fodor, Hungary's Ambassador to Oman; Abdullah bin Hamad Al Riyami, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Cultural Cooperation Department at the Foreign Ministry and various Hungarian officials.
All agreed on the importance of closely following up on the discussions to achieve the desired outcomes for the benefit of both countries.
