Oman and India hold trade talks

Oman and India have held talks with the aim of preparing a Free Trade Agreement.

An Omani delegation to India was headed by Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The Minister met with India's Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation in trade, industry and investment promotion.

The Ministers also discussed investment opportunities as part of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement.

Delegates also met with a number of filmmaking, arts, content creators and event organisation companies.

They reviewed the key elements of the investment, tourism and economic environment in Oman as well as the advice and facilities offered to investors by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef stressed Oman's accomplishments in logistics, digital transformation and enhancing the investment environment by updating legislative systems and infrastructure projects to keep pace with global developments. He said the visit would produce clear benefits for both countries

Oman's delegation included Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and officials from the Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
