Oman and Russia hold political consultations

A session of political consultations was held today at the Foreign Ministry between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.

The Omani side was chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, while the Russian side was chaired by Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Envoy of the Russian President to the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the session, they reviewed areas of common interestand ways to enhance bilateral cooperation mechanisms between the two friendly countries. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.

The consultation session was attended by Ilya Mourgunov, Russia's Ambassador to Oman; Ambassador Sheikh Hamad Alrawahi, Head of the International Cooperation Department; Ambassador Yusef Alzadjali, Head of the Eastern Europe Department and a number of officials from both sides.
