Oman at GCC Ministerial Council meeting

The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 160th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held today in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Oman's delegation was led by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, and the Secretary-General of the GCC.

The meeting reviewed joint Gulf action, with the Ministers making decisions related to cooperation in various fields. They reaffirmed the GCC's consistent positions on regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.

Sayyid Badr also participated in Doha in the sixth joint ministerial meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries and Dr Shaya Mohsin Zindani, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Yemen. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in the presence of theForeign Ministers of the GCC countries and the Secretary-General of the GCC.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, reaffirming the GCC's steadfast, shared support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, preserving Yemen's sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence.

Sayyid Badr also participated in Doha in the sixth ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries and Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Türkiye. This meeting was also chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, and the GCC Secretary-General.

During the meeting, the Ministers affirmed the long-standing GCC-Turkish relationship, noting its development and the constructive cooperation in various economic, commercial, and tourism fields.

The Ministers stressed their shared commitment to continuing and intensifying efforts to support the Palestinian cause.

They also agreed on their commitment to enhance political, diplomatic and legal work based on justice and unity of standards in addressing various issues and challenges, so contributing to the establishment of security and stability in the region and the world.
