The Foreign Ministry notes the opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the request of the United Nations General Assembly for the ICJ's view on “Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem.”

The ICJ opinion reaffirms the illegality of Israeli practices in the occupied territories and the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people.

Oman welcomes the International Court's opinion on the legal implications of the occupation state's practices.

The Sultanate  renews its call for the international community to implement international resolutions and treaties calling for the immediate end to the illegal occupation of the occupied territories, the cessation of settlements and the cycle of violence in the Palestinian territories.

Oman also reiterates its position calling for the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
