Oman welcomes international measures to combat Islamophobia

The Foreign Ministry welcomed the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to take international measures to combat Islamophobia – the hatred of Islam and Muslims – and the appointment of a UN special international envoy.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed Oman's position stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence and tolerance among members of different religions and the criminalisation of all acts that incite hatred and cause offence and conflict between religions and cultures.
