Waleed envisions Oman’s new maritime heritage to be sculpted by modern technology. This led him to launch iLab Marine, a startup that develops the automation processes necessary for fisheries and the blue economy to thrive via digitised agriculture.
Waleed is also an academic researcher driven by a passion for sea life. He graduated with a BSc in Mechatronics Engineering and an MSc in Computer Engineering. He subsequently operated marine drones that float around the water’s surface and dive deep into open seas. Waleed’s dream is to make Oman a global hub for marine technologies.
