Ominvest to sponsor Oman Golf Trophy
Ominvest signed a contract at the Foreign Ministry to support and sponsor the second Oman Golf Trophy.
Oman will host the final of the Trophy in December. The tournament will be held at several golf courses in Muscat, including the 18 hole LA VIE Golf Course in Madinat Al Irfan, one of Ominvest’s investments.
The Oman Golf Trophy, launched by the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth; the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Oman Golf Association, aims to promote Oman’s tourism potential and its capabilities in the sport of golf.
A total of 128 players from eight countries, including Oman, will participate in the final round of the tournament in Muscat. The tournament began in April, with qualifying rounds held in Italy, Germany, Austria, France, South Africa, India and Japan.
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Khalid Almuslahi, said that the Oman Golf Trophy is a diplomatic sports initiative launched by the Ministry as part of its efforts to highlight investment opportunities Oman as well as the Sultanate's natural beauty, tourism potential and its capacity to support and host global golf competitions.
He added that Ominvest’s sponsorship of the tournament reflects the Omani private sector’s commitment to supporting Government efforts aimed at attracting investments and promoting Oman’s tourism and investment potential.
