Sayyid Asaad arrives in Belgium for historic GCC EU summit
On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, has arrived in Belgium to lead the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the first joint summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU).
Upon his arrival at Brussels International Airport, His Highness was received by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission; Jassem bin Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Rua Issa Ashraf Alzadjali, Oman's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the European Union, along with members of staff of the Omani Embassy in Belgium.
He is accompanied by an official delegation consisting of Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, a number of ministers and senior officials.
