His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, received His Excellency Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

During the meeting, they reviewed the current humanitarian situation in Yemen and the efforts made by all parties to end the conflict and stop the suffering of the brotherly people of Yemen.

They also exchanged views on various regional and international developments of common interest.

The guest expressed his thanks for the Sultanate’s support for the humanitarian operations carried out by the National Committee of the Red Cross.

Sayyid Badr stressed the Sultanate’s keenness to continue cooperation with the ICRC. He also affirmed that the Sultanate attaches great importance to humanitarian issues as part of political and diplomatic efforts to come up with peaceful solutions to issues and conflicts.

The meeting was attended by Jamila Hammami, Head of the ICRC Mission in the Sultanate and a number of Foreign Ministry officials.
