Oman's Diplomatic Undersecretary receives European Commission's Head of Visa Policy

Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, received today Dimitri Giotakos, Head of Visa Policy at the General Authority for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing relations between the Sultanate and the European Union and ways to enhance them.

The delegation of the European Commission emphasised the importance that the Commission attaches to the issue of exempting Omani citizens from the Schengen visa and working to fulfil the technical aspects related to this.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Khalid Baomar, Head of the Foreign Ministry’s European Union Department, a number of officials from the relevant Omani authorities and the delegation accompanying the guest.
