Swiss President arrives in Oman

Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation, and his wife arrived in the country this morning on an official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court. led the welcoming  party for the guest upon his arrival at the Royal Private Airport.

Also in the welcoming party were Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education; Dr Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health (Head of the Mission of Honour); Mahmoud bin Hamad Alhasani, Oman's Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, Thomas Oertel, Switzerland's Ambassador to Oman, and members of the Swiss Embassy in Muscat.

During the visit, the Swiss President is accompanied by an official delegation that includes: Thomas Oertel, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman, Ambassador Maya Tissafi, Under-Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Middle East and North Africa Affairs Department; Ambassador Nora Kronig-Romero, Head of the International Affairs Department and Deputy Director. Federal Office of Public Health; Ambassador Wolfgang Amadeus Brülhart, the Swiss Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, and a number of officials of the Swiss Confederation.
