Oman speech to COP 27 climate summit in Egypt

His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said returned to Oman today after leaving Algeria where he headed Oman's delegation to the 31st Arab Summit
The "Algeria Declaration" rejected all foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and stressed the need to adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative to solve the Palestinian issue.
The summit heard speeches from the Presidents of Egypt, Palestine and from the Crown Prince of Kuwait.
The Arab summit is discussing many topics , including political developments in the Palestinian cause, food security initiatives, developments in Libya and Yemen, Arab security cooperation and the development of the League of Arab States.
Delegated by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said,arrived in Algiers to chair the Sultanate’s delegation to the 31st Arab Summit.
His Highness will head Oman's delegation to the Arab summit in its 31st session, to be held in the capital, Algiers.
Permanent delegates and senior officials met in Algiers today to prepare for the preliminary meeting of Arab foreign ministers ahead of the Arab Summit in November.
In his speech, the Minister stressed the importance of establishing a just solution for the Palestinian people by recognising the independent State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem and the 1967 borders and its accession to full membership in the United Nations.
