In his speech, the Minister stressed the importance of establishing a just solution for the Palestinian people by recognising the independent State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem and the 1967 borders and its accession to full membership in the United Nations.
The summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was attended by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries; the President of the United States, Joe Biden; His Majesty King Abdallah II of Jordan; President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of Egypt and Mustafa al Kazemi, Prime Minister of Iraq.
The statement comes out of the long-standing brotherly relations and close cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The two sides stressed the depth of the Omani-Egyptian relations and the need to work on developing them in various fields.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the solid historical bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them at all levels.
Prior to the dinner, His Majesty the Sultan and President El Sisi exchanged commemorative gifts on the occasion of the Egyptian President’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The session reviewed the progress of the distinguished relations between Oman and Egypt. It also explored areas of bilateral cooperation and ways of furthering. The two leaders also exchanged views on various issues, in light of developments in the Arab and international arenas.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the welcoming party for the Egyptian President wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Oman.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt will pay an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman lasting two days from this Monday.
