United States: Embassy holds National Day reception

Moosa Hamdan Al Tai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States of America, hosted a reception on the occasion of the fifty-third National Day.

The Ambassador delivered a speech in which he spoke of the renaissance witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, highlighting the achievements and gains that place Oman in the ranks of developed countries.

The Ambassador praised the long-standing, strategic relations between Oman and the United States. He noted the existing cooperation between Oman and the United States in various fields, stressing the Embassy’s commitment to enhance trade cooperation and benefit from the free trade agreement between the two countries.

Ambassador Al Tai  also spoke about the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and ending the violence and injustice against the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of respecting international resolutions and international humanitarian law, as well as respecting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Timothy Lenderking, the US special envoy to Yemen, delivered a speech in which he praised the pioneering Omani role in establishing security and stability in Yemen and the Middle East region. He also spoke about the growth of Omani-American relations and the doubling of trade between the two countries.

The event programme also included a visual presentation about the Sultanate of Oman and its development in various fields.
